Welcome! Bienvenidos! Ласкаво прошу! Добро пожаловать!
I’m Liza, an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist, AMFT #160280, supervised by Gieve Patel, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist LMFT #47196, based in San Francisco on unceded Ramaytush Ohlone land, and working with clients throughout California via Telehealth.
Trauma therapy is at the heart of my work and I trust your experience as the most reliable map we have. If any of this sounds familiar — maybe you've spent years taking care of everyone else — a parent, a partner, the people around you — while quietly losing track of yourself. Maybe there's a voice inside that says something is fundamentally wrong with you, that you're not good enough, that your needs don't really matter. Maybe you know something happened in your family, your childhood, your relationships, but the word "trauma" still feels strange to claim. Maybe you've tried to think your way through the pain, and it hasn't been enough. — I hear you. You're not broken. Your nervous system learned to protect you the only way it knew how. And it can learn something different.
I work with adults carrying the weight of complex and relational trauma — people who are tired of people-pleasing, shutting down, and feeling chronically unsafe in their own bodies. People who long to feel connected to their own worth, not just understand it intellectually. People who are ready to heal at the level where it actually happened: not just in the mind, but in the body.
Awareness practice is central to my own life and informs how I work — if mindfulness or a reflective approach resonates with you, we'll likely be a good fit.
As a first-generation Ukrainian immigrant, I bring a deep understanding of how our environments, relationships, and cultural contexts shape who we become — and how healing happens not in isolation, but in the context of safety, attunement, and connection.
